Liliana Cosma and the Italian challenge

Gymnastics coach of the “Cetate Deva” club, who won the award of the best technician from the Hunedoara County for the past 5 years, Liliana Cosma has left the Olympic Gymnastics team and will work, starting from March, for the Italian Federation.

Retired from the Olympic team of Romania, in December, at only a few months after the return of the famous B&B, Liliana Cosma didn’t stay for long in the outskirts of big performances. Talented and a well aware technician from the “Cetate” club returned home, at Deva, but shortly she received a tempting offer and signed a contract for one year with the Italian gymnastics federation.

“I left the training centre at Izvorani with the thought that I could work back home, at Deva at which I formed myself as a gymnast and coach. I barely started my activity at Deva and I already got an offer from Italy. I analyzed it and I took a short holiday from the club and I accepted the challenge. I have a contract with the Italian gymnastics federation, for one year, and I will be involved in advising the junior as well as senior teams. Furthermore, I will work at a private consortium in the cities of Cesena, Rimini and Bologna” – said Lili Cosma

Lili claims she accepted the offer of Italians, because she wanted a change in her life.

“For 19 years I worked in the Romanian gymnastics, in the circle of great performance and success, without any vacantions and many sacrifices. I’m not complaining, because that’s what I wanted and nobody forced me to do it, but I think it’s time to try something else. From what I understand, their training sessions is more flexible”
