The Romanian Men Team, composed by Marian Dragulescu, Vlad Cotuna, Andrei Ursache and Andrei Muntean, finished 8th at the Japan Cup this week-end. Romania gathered 294.400 points, with Marian Dragulescu having the best scores of the team, on his first competition after injury suffered during spring.

  • Vlad Cotuna: 14.750 (FX), 11.950 (PH),  13.950 (SR), 14.850 (VT), 13.200 (PB), 12.950 (HB);
  • Andrei Muntean: 10.850 (PH), 13.600 (SR), 14.400 (VT), 13.150 (PB), 14.500 (HB);
  • Andrei Ursache: 14.650 (FX), 14.350 (PH), 13.750 (SR), 14.100 (PB), 12.900 (HB);

UPDATE (04th of July)

In the AA competition, Romania was represented by Andrei Ursache and Andrei Muntean, who finished 14th and 15th, respectively. Kohei Uchimura, the world AA champion, finished first.

Our gymnasts obtained the following marks:

  • Andrei Ursache: 83.350 pct - 14.450 (FX), 13.500 (PH), 13.350 (SR), 14.850 (VT), 14.200 (PB) and 12.500 (HB);
  • Andrei Muntean: 82.900 pct - 13.900 (FX), 12.000 (PH), 14.150 (SR), 14.450 (VT), 13.700 (PB) and 14.700 (HB);

Ksenia Afanasyeva (RUS) won the women AA competition, followed by Koko Tsurumi (JPN) and Aliya Mustafina (RUS). The Romanian women did not participate to this competition, they being scheduled for the first international competition in August, with the Great Britain team.
